Our Mission: Krinvanto Vishwam Aryam
The Arya Pratinidhi Sabha America (APSA) is the central umbrella organization representing Arya Samaj chapters and Vedic institutions across North America. Established in 1991, our mission is to unite these diverse communities under a shared vision of promoting and preserving the eternal values of Vedic Dharma.
We are dedicated to the ideals of Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati, the visionary founder of the Arya Samaj (est. 1875), who called for a return to the pure, rational teachings of the Vedas to uplift humanity physically, socially, and spiritually.
Our History & Heritage
What began as a shared dream among a few dedicated immigrants has blossomed into a vibrant network of over 40 member organizations. In the late 1980s, before the digital age, correspondence between Arya Samajis across the continent relied on handwritten letters and an unwavering faith in the Ten Principles of Arya Samaj.
The Sabha was officially founded on the auspicious day of Vaisakhi, April 13, 1991, at the first Arya Mahasammelan in Detroit, Michigan. Since then, APSA has served as a beacon for the diaspora, ensuring that the flame of Vedic wisdom remains bright in a multicultural world.
Key Initiatives & Impact
APSA serves the community through several flagship programs designed to nurture both the soul and the intellect:
- Annual Arya Mahasammelan: A premier four-day international convention featuring Vedic scholars, youth leadership camps, and cultural programs that foster unity and shared purpose.
- Vedic Sanskriti School (VSS): A K–12 educational initiative that empowers the younger generation with moral education (Dharmik Shiksha), Hindi language skills, and the practice of Havan.
- Purohit Academy: Training the next generation of North American-based priests to perform the Sixteen Sanskaars and promote Vedic living.
- Navrang Times: Our bi-monthly magazine, which has been sharing Vedic insights and community news for over 30 years.
- Humanitarian Service (Sewa): From disaster relief in Uttarakhand to supporting the children of Jeevan Prabhat in India, we embody the spirit of selfless service.
Our Vision for the Future: Mission 2050
As we celebrate the 150th anniversary of Arya Samaj, APSA is looking forward to the next century. Our “Strategy 2040” and “Mission 2050” frameworks focus on:
- The Vedic Village: Breaking ground on a visionary national headquarters and retreat center in Atlanta, featuring a heritage museum and senior living community.
- Digital Transformation: Leveraging modern technology to make Vedic scriptures and teachings accessible to a global, English-speaking audience.
- Youth Empowerment: Developing 100 “Vedic Value Promoters” to serve as ambassadors of truth and justice in their local professional and social circles
